I’m not going to lie. I’m not a fan of Halloween.
I just don’t get it. Dress up as someone or something else, then go knocking on doors for candy? The goblins, ghouls, and ghosts. The scary, bloody, creepy, and eery. It’s just not for me.
I know that the kids love it though, so of course I’m going to put on my happy face and take them out to celebrate.
What did your kids (or yourself) dress up as this year?
And please, tell me I’m not the only one who does that after the kids go to bed!

OMG hilarious and you just totally blew our cover.

I did. I just have to keep the kids away from the computer so they don’t see what we do with the candy.

Yep…it’s all about the candy…for the parents…we’ll just keep that as our little secret!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Shh! I won’t tell if you don’t.
The most adorable pirates EVER. I just love when Dylan sat down, hee hee!
You mean you didn’t save any candy for me???
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
He kept doing that. It was cute but after the 357th time it was a little annoying.
There’s plenty of candy here. Don’t worry, I share!
Those are the cutiest pirates I’ve ever seen!!
My DH and I are just getting ready to sit down and “inspect” the candy to make sure it’s safe! HA!

Inspect = taste test, right?

I sure did!
Haha this was great! Love the little pirates!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
They were pretty cute.
Most adorable pirates Ive seen yet! My husband’s favorite holiday is Halloween but I too dont get it. Also?! After the kids go to bed we totally enjoy some delicious candy!! Ill never tell if you dont!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
It will be our little secret!
I had a feeling that was what Halloween was essentially about – that last bit – parents get to chow down on the candy when the kids are asleep
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Trust me, that’s the only reason we’re in it!
Hysterical! This was the first year my son celebrated Halloween and I have to admit I was so excited to eat his chocolate!! The hubs can keep all the other candy!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I try to hide some of my favorites so my husband can’t steal them.
haha that was funny! I was good this year. Only one little tootsie roll so far.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Surprisingly I haven’t had a single piece today… though it’s not over yet.
The boys looked adorable, Kim! And I totally dig Matthew’s version of Pauly D.
My fave however, was of course the candy-eating parents, hands down!!! Watching you two really made me laugh, and thank you for that! LOVE you both. Happy Halloween!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
He loved his Pauly D outfit! The candy stealing is the real reason for Halloween.
Haha….I didn’t do EXACTLY that…I mean, I didn’t have to share with a husband…
Spencer went as Woody from Toy Story. It was really cute…the whole 10 minutes he trick or treated lol
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Aww! Mine actually went for longer than I expected them too. That’s okay, more candy for me!
First of all, those are the cutest little pirates I’ve ever seen. And you older son is so handsome!
I’ll admit that after my kids went to bed last night I too dove into their candy buckets. And I overindulged. But I think it’s a good thing because now just looking at that candy makes me feel ill. So (maybe) I won’t do it again.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I’m actually surprised I haven’t jumped into the candy yet today. I’m sure I’ll make up for it tomorrow!
Um…………I did that BEFORE my child went to bed
So cute!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
So did I. Shh, don’t tell!
That was great! and you have the cutest pirates
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I thought so too, but I figured I was biased.
CUTE.
Also, i’m so not a fan of Halloween. The candy I can get on board with but I don’t like the dressing up, the being outside in the cold, the knocking on people’s doors, the fright part. I didn’t even dress my kids up. Chessa would have recycled her cheerleading uniform if we hadn’t had snow the day before. But I used the weather and her cold as a reason to stay in. I suck.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I wish I had a reason to stay in. I don’t like Halloween. The candy is fun, but the rest? Not so much.
I hope Chessa is feeling better!
You are hilarious! I think everybody eats the candy after the kids go to bed. My little guy couldn’t stay out very long since it was too close to bedtime, but he did manage to get out there and grab himself 12 pieces of candy. I admit, I ate 3 pieces of it already!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
There’s nothing wrong with indulging in it yourself!
Very cute!
We don’t traditionally “do” Halloween here, but it’s been creeping in gradually, and some local kids tried. I don’t understand or like the whole thing, but I didn’t grow up with it either.
I guess the post-bedtime candy raid is not all that different to Santa eating the milk and cookies, right? Or maybe commission for assisting with the collection. Or something
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Oh we sure do earn the candy eating by enduring the festivities!
Twitter: KirstenPiccini
says:
I hate when I can’t see the vlogs!!!! (work firewalls should be banned!!!!) PIRATES, I want to see the pirates!!!!!! you eat the candy don’t you, you go through their pumpkis and eat their candy…..hey…ME TOO! I steal the milk duds, they shouldn’t eat them anyway, it’s a choking hazard.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Of course I eat the candy! That’s what it’s there for, right?
I love their little pirate costumes!! so cute.
And I am totally jealous that you got a peanut butter cup!!! Not ONE this year. NONE!! I guess given all the peanut allergies it is no longer a wise treat option. but I MISS! LOL
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
WHAT?!?! That’s crazy! Though, I can understand with the allergies.
Your pirates were so cute!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Thank you!!
Let’s just say I hope my kid never sees this video!
Another great production, Kim. Your pirates (and your Pauly) are adorable.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
We have to keep this a secret. Don’t let them catch on!
Great vlog, That song at the end, soo funny!
The young pirates are really cute and your oldest? Just to cool for school!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
He sure is too cool!
Twitter: bewilderedbug
says:
haha I so would do that too – but unlike your grabby hubby (jks) I am picky about my candy – so would be sifting through for the good ones!
Your boys were adorable as pirates and Pauly!
I’m not a halloween person either – so I’m really glad someone else on this blogosphere was willing to say that!
Glad you guys enjoyed the evening!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Halloween has never been my thing. I didn’t even like it when I was a kid!
Hahaha. I brought my littlest ones’ buckets to work!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Awesome idea!
lol. I love this! Your kids looked adorable! And, I laughed out loud for the end part! So true! I wanted my little girl to go out for two reasons 1) to bring me, I mean, her some peanut m&ms and 2) the memory of it.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Mmm, peanut M&M’s…
Adorable little pirates! And are you totally amazed that Matthew is now old enough to go out on his own with friends??? Time flies. Seriously though, genius move stealing the candy at the end. Couldn’t agree more.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
This was his first year out with his friends instead. A little piece of me broke inside. It happened way too fast!
Trick-or-treating IS hard work! Poor Dylan – the hardship of it all.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
He had the right idea. *I* wanted to take a break!
Of course girl- that’s the real reason to take your kids trick or treating!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Absolutely! That candy is for us after all!
Yup! We totally “inspected” the candy last night. Woke up with a huge candy hangover today though.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
The only thing to cure a hangover is to start again. Okay, so maybe that only works with beer, but whatever.
HAHA..that made me laugh, ya’ll are great! And for the record YES, I did it too!!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
We all do it. I won’t tell if you don’t!
Simply Loved It!!! It’s a well know fact amongst us parents that we siphon off more of their candy loot than they know about…Mwaaahaahha!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
They will never know the truth!
Hahaha! Yes, that’s exactly what it’s like after the kids go to bed.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
And sometimes before they go to bed too.
That was hilarious! And yes, don’t do it with so much enthusiasm but definitely sneak candy.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
It *might* have been exaggerated for the camera.
Ha! That is totally the reason I take my kids trick or treating.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
They can never know the truth.
I love Halloween. Or at least handing out treats to all of the little kids. As long as its not über cold outside. Thank goodness it wasn’t that cold last night.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I agree. Last night wasn’t terribly cold, though it could have been warmer.
First–they are so cute as pirates! I love it. And I totally raided the candy too.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Thank you! The candy is actually ours, right?
The two little boys looked adorable!!
Your oldest was hilarious! Way to represent the blog!! Lol.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I should make him my sidekick!
You can bet that if Donut were old enough to go Trick or Treating that there would be Parent Candy Tax!
I have to say, those are the most adorable little pirates!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Maybe next year you can do it too!
And thank you!
Oh, those peanut butter cups are impossible to ignore! Glad you had a fun Halloween.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Those sure are my favorite!
YES! That’s what I do, I eat the reeses first. Your boys are sooooo handsome!!!! Also, I don’t love Halloween, we do the trick or treating and carve a smiley pumpkin. That’s about it.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
Mmm, Reese’s!
I didn’t even carve a pumpkin this year. Oh well!
HAHAHAH Ain’t that the truth! And in unrelated news…. “someone” ate all of Blake’s Kit Kats. WTF!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
What?!? I’m sure someone broke in and stole them, because there is no way you would have eaten them all already!
Twitter: beeswithhoney
says:
That’s EXACTLY why I love Halloween! Chocolate
Loved the vlog …as always.
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
More for us, right?
Twitter: GalitBreen
says:
Hee! All of you are pure adorable!
Also? This is pure evidence! Aak!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
I’ll make sure the kids don’t see it.
Adorable kids! I love how your hubby always gets involved. I’m jealous – he’s such a good sport! Tell him to send some tips to my hubby
And good call stealing the Reese’s – best Halloween candy ever!
Twitter: KimberlyAMuro
says:
A lot of these are his idea too. Clearly we have too much time on our hands!
Twitter: MissMarinaStar
says:
Great video of your adorable little pirates. I’m sure your children appreciate the sacrifice you make taking them TOTing. And the rewards of buckets full of candy aren’t too shabby!
