To me it’s those little things in life. Those little things that seem to bring a ray of sunshine through a dark dismal sky.
…It’s wrapping your cold hands around a piping hot cup of freshly brewed tea, as you snuggle into a blanket, ready to dive into a book. The warm smell of the tea mixes with the fresh odor of newly published pages and your eyes close, letting your mind drift off into complete contentment.
…It’s watching them learn, achieving their milestones, gaining more knowledge. It’s seeing their face and watching the corner of their mouths turn upwards into a smile that spreads across their cheeks.
…It’s entering a room that’s full. Full of love, full of family, and full of laughter. A laughter that starts deep down in your belly, comes barreling out of your mouth, and echoes off the walls. It encompasses your body, contagious to all who hear it.
…It’s his warm embrace. His loving arms that create a safe haven. It’s the unconditional love, loyalty, and adoration. It’s having a partner, a best friend, and soul mate. It’s the life we’ve built, together.
…It’s learning new tasks and following my dreams. It’s putting my mind to something, showing I can do it. It’s following through and succeeding, pushing through the doubt, worries, and fears. It’s becoming me. A better me. A determined, motivated, driven me. A successful me. It’s finally finding my path in life and making my journey. It’s becoming the me that I was meant to be.
It’s all of those little things. The little things that, when placed together, fit perfectly to complete the puzzle.
The puzzle of our life.
A life of happiness, laughter, and love.
A full life.

These are all great but the laughter one really made me smile. There’s just nothing better than that feeling.

Lovely list. I recently experienced the best giggle fit, just like you described. Lil’ Bit was making a new, funny face that was cracking her up. Her laughter was just so pure and happy and gut-busting that it made me laugh too. So for about 10 minutes we just sat there and laughed at each other. It felt awesome.
